Funeral Services: Donations Wanted
Milwaukee Family Faces Crushing, High Medical Bills
Please find the story below
"My husband had his esophagus removed on 10/23 - 7 days in ICU & 4 days in Oncology (no cancer, he had a rare motility disorder). The medical bills are KILLING us - we do have insurance -- but our portion is still way above & beyond our means. I thought as long as we set up a "payment plan" with the hospitals, we could pay whatever we could afford each month. Nope, now they tell me we have only 2 years. Our bills are already more than $5000 between all the different doctors & hospital for all his "pre" stuff -- can't wait to see what we owe on his week+ long stay. Plus he has a feeding tube, & the insurance company won't pay for it. One delivery of food, which lasts 2 weeks, costs $650! We will be ordering his 3rd supply this week.
To top it off, we just found out that things are sticky at his work. They are getting rid of 2nd shift, which is the shift he is on, as of the 1st of the year. He may or may not have seniority to "bump" someone out of their position - depends on how many people they let go.
Needless to say, we don't have much in savings & I'm freaking out just a bit. I do work, but I'm just a CSR & don't make much. I sell on Ebay a bit to help - but that's not quite cutting it. Any help we could get would be a blessing!!
Happy holidays to you!

Mobile Shower Trucks for Hot Showers, Mobile Hot Soup / Meal Trucks for Disaster Victims: Ideas FEMA Could Use for New York and New Jersey Victims
All these victims need clothing, hot foods, medicines, and everything else. Operating a mobile shower truck is a great idea for many people who have not taken a bath or a hot shower for days. FEMA may want to think about implementing this idea. There are people who want to stay closer to their damaged home. They may stay with family members or friends who may not be able to accommodate all their needs. Operating mobile soup trucks, mobile shower trucks, mobile hot meal delivery trucks could help alleviate the tensions and nerves.
Mobile fuel stations for gas are also a good idea. While workers are trying hard to re-establish electricity, many people could buy gas for their generators.
What's clear is that disaster relief requires collective efforts and innovation. Disaster relief is not only a government's responsibility. It involves everybody. Natural disasters affect all the members of the community.
The world is learning to cope with the natural disasters occurring in Haiti, Chile, New York, New Jersey etc. We can save lives by being proactive and ready to help each other.
Do Not Leave /Drop Them Off in the Cold: Help for Our Canine Friends
Here is Joy's request/story: "
Help for Our Canine Friends I live in a neighborhood that people frequently drop dogs off. I am located out in the country, but there are a lot of houses, so I suppose most people think the dogs will be taken in and cared for and that makes them more comfortable with their decision to abandon these poor creatures.
I have adopted four dogs that were left on my road. They are my family. I love them and wouldn't trade them for anything. I do work, however, it is hard enough to feed four dogs let alone try to take them to the Vet for check ups, shots, neutering, etc. I have partnered with a wonderful Vet that will spay, neuter, give the necessary shots to all the dogs for $500.00. While I believe that is truly a blessing, I do not have $500.00. I would appreciate anything that you would be willing to donate for the dogs and their well being. What would these animals do without us? Bless you.
"
Will you not want to be a good samaritan today?

Mother Faces Car Repo, High Repair Costs and Is Unable to Fill Prescriptions: Please Help Her
Disabled, Please Help! I have been on Social Security Disability for two years and have been desperately trying to stay afloat, but I am going down for the count. I can't pay the rent this month, I have title loans due on both mine and my daughters cars with repo orders out on both. One car is in the shop with a 1493.00 repair bill that has to be paid before I can get it only to face having it reposessed.
I don't have prescription insurance so I can't afford my insulin which leads to lots of other problems. My disability payments disqualify me from Medicaid, but are not enough to pay for rent and meds, much less anything else. I am trying to start my own business so I can work from home despite my disabilities. It has been a really rough year.
I know lots of people have monetary problems right now and I would love to be on the giving end of this request someday soon. I need to raise $20,000 to get my head above water. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your consideration.

Help Her Save for Her Wedding: She faces financial issues
Help Needed in New York and New Jersey: Help Clean up and Help Restore Power
Wind. water. woe: Seawater pours into ground zero building site. Lots filled with taxis are swamped. Felled trees are dangerous. Home debris are scattered everywhere. Boats sit on train tracks. Skyscraper foundations are flooded. No restaurants to eat at. Safety is elusive in the face of a monster storm. Boats on front lawns. Breezy point lost 100 homes destroyed by fires. Storm surge sweeps homes off their foundations. Water was everywhere. Wet and barefoot, New Yorkers are wearing borrowed clothes. Floodwaters damage new york's extensive transit system which is a lifeline for many. Subway tunnels connecting manhattan and Brooklyn are swamped by floodwaters. New York subway is reeling from the devastations. Estimates of the cost range in the 70 billion.
Damaged and wrecked vehicles litter the landscape. Hurricane Katrina like sandy causes lots of havoc.
Coffee, company, chitchat, charging at electrical outlets, and Wi-Fi: Darkness has descended upon the city of lights and neons. Sandy sent newyorkers back to the Bronze Age. A city of immigrants is watching her children move from downtown to uptown. Suddenly we are not connected any longer. People are walking everywhere. Buses and subways are still shut down. Tunnels are closed and swamped.
Those with power are hosting those without power. A new divide in the city that never sleeps. Manhattan reclaims its island status. New York becomes the new metropolis that turns a few pages back to ancient history. Her residents have to learn to cope. No hot coffee. People may fight over access to electrical outlets. New york's huddled masses think of the inscription at the Statue of Liberty. They huddle to get some power and to charge their phones, iPads etc.
In the days ahead, those with power will want to offer a hot cup of coffee or tea to those without power. Patience will be needed as New Yorkers will try to catch a taxi or a bus to return to work.
Waiting on long lines may cause tensions to flair. Lack of gas and power will scare some residents, but the power companies and local authorities are doing all they can do to restore power.
Vendela Ahlstedt's Story: Please help her help herself
"A little about my background:
I was born April 28 1975 in Stockholm Sweden. My father was a known musician during the 70's and my mother was a young woman in her teen years. She was 19 when she had me. My parents married and stayed married until I was 3 years old. After that my Mom was a single young parent with hardly any income. Today she has a career as a Financial Manager in the train-business with a stable economy.
As for me, I graduated college here in Sweden as an Accountant, but times were hard and the job market was overflown with young Accountants like me. I really didn't enjoy that type of career and started to look after a different more creative kind of work.
I had always dreamed about becoming a Pastry Chef, like my Aunt and Grandfather. An opportunity luckily came my way, and I started an education as a Pastry Cook. One thing led to another and took me all the way to Seattle, WA where I got a Certificate from The Specialty Bredas & Desserts program at Seattle Central Community College. That's about where my luck changed.I started to develop respiratory problems with sinus infections that never seemed to get better. After undergoing some tests and scans I got the final results: I was allergic to flourdust! My Doctor advised me to change my mind about working as a Pastry Cook.
I tried working as a Barista, but that didn't quite work out so well. I had a hard time coping with stress and I had started to feel some joint pain. Soon I was on sick leave, unable to work. I had to face the fact that I had to retire completely at a very young age. In 2001 I became a mother to a son.
During the years I have been diagnosed with Psoriasis Arthritis, Fibromyalgia, Essential Tremor and Ataxia, which makes it hard for me to function without help from Caregivers. I have an electrical wheelchair to help me move around outdoors. Adjusting to this kind of lifestyle has been hard. But I'm stoic and refuse to be defeated! I don't see problems, I see abilities! Even though it's been hard at times, I've managed to get through all the hurdles.
What is the purpose with my plea?
Well, not being able to work, I have to rely on Government payed Disability, which is very low. I hardly have any money to buy clothes for me or my son or to let my son participate in any after school activities. We are never able to travel or do anything to make our lives more exciting and enjoyable. My financial situation is the worst thinkable for a mother! I can't pay my rent or other bills, I have no money for food and a negative balance on my bank account.
If you feel like you are able to help me out of this nightmare, I would be most thankful! Thank you for considering me as a donation candidate! God bless You!
